AMD is getting ready to launch a new processor, the Ryzen 5 8600G. This processor is part of their AM5 desktop range and comes with an updated RDNA 3 graphics technology. It uses the mobile Hawk Point technology and can support up to 12 RDNA 3 Compute Units for graphics.

The Ryzen 8000G series, including this new processor, is not a straight upgrade from the 7000 series. It's made for people who need better built-in graphics rather than a more powerful processor.

The Ryzen 5 8600G was recently tested on an MSI X670E ACE motherboard. This motherboard is usually used with top-end processors, not with a processor like the 8600G which has integrated graphics.

Test results show that the Ryzen 5 8600G has 6 cores and 12 threads, making it different from its previous version, the Ryzen 5 8500G. The new processor is expected to use 6 Zen 4 cores, unlike the 8500G which had a mix of two Zen 4 and four Zen 4c cores.

The tests also found that the new processor has a base speed of 4.35GHz and can go up to 5.0 GHz, which is faster than the older Ryzen 5 5600G based on Zen 3+ architecture. For graphics, it has Radeon 760M integrated graphics with 8 Compute Units that run at 2.8 GHz.
