Netflix raising prices on current subscription plans

If you are a Netflix subscriber, you may have received an email detailing a change in the subscription rate for current streaming and DVD plans.  The current $8.99 plans that include both streaming movies and DVDs by mail is increasing to $9.99.  They have also added a new plan that will give users the option of streaming only and no DVDs by mail which will run $7.99 a month.

Netflix says that the increase is due to continuing to offer unlimited streaming movies and with the increased demand for these and one can imagine the increased bandwidth requirements for the ever growing load of users.
