Essential Exchange 2010 SP1 export commands

The New-MailboxExportRequest command is an essential tool in all exchange admin’s bag of tricks.  We wanted to list a few of the commands that make life easier when exporting a mailbox as well as the syntax for the command itself.

The command itself:

New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox Administrator -FilePath “\\YourServer\YourShare\Administrator.pst”

View Status of Move:

Get-MailboxExportRequest | Get-MailboxExportRequestStatistics

Remove A Move Request:

Get-MailboxExportRequest | Remove-MailboxExportRequest

Write Status of Move Request to Log File

get-mailboxexportrequest -resultsize “Unlimited” | where{$_.Status -eq ‘Completed’} | get-mailb
oxexportrequeststatistics | fl > c:\export-request.txt

Final Thoughts:

The new-mailboxexportrequest command is a handy tool to use and the other commands listed above are great commands to go along with the export request as they allow you view status, remove, and create logs of the requests.
