OPNsense 25.1 Unicorn new features and upgrade

OPNsense 25.1 has been released with many new improvements. The new Unicorn release features, many fixes related to security and also performance improvements. If you are running OPNsense in the home lab or in production, this release may be one that you definitely will want to upgrade to. Note the following key features and improveents.

• This release has much better features and functionality for network zones
• Network zones allow admins to much more easily manage things from a firewall perspective and more easily setup security
• Updates to the filtering engine enhance traffic handling and security policies

• Package updates include the latest security fixes to protect your network

3️⃣ Better experience

• The dashboard and menus now have better navigation and easier user workflows
• Small UI tweaks make things more visible
• Better performance for the web interface

4️⃣ Updated packages and plugins

• Core packages have been updated in this release to their latest versions
• Third-party plugins have been updated to latest versions
