An option that gets overlooked often for home lab is Nutanix as most assume it is just for the enterprise and a paid solution. However, there is Nutanix Community Edition (CE) that is free to run and has few limitations. With the uncertainty in my mind of VMUG, vExpert, and other programs, this may be a valid option to run an enterprise-grade hypervisor in the home lab:
