In this video, Iโ€™m sharing some of my favorite Docker Compose tricks I wish I knew sooner. When I first started running containers in my home lab, I made a lot of mistakes like dumping all my configs in one folder, hardcoding passwords, and wondering why things would break. Over time, Iโ€™ve learned a ton of best practices that make Docker Compose cleaner, safer, and way more reliable.

Automate Your Home Lab with Terraform, Packer, Ansible & GitLab CI/CD (2025 Tutorial)
I think I have found the best automation tool for the home lab and you need to try it out. It is called Semaphore UI and it started out as an Ansible GUI that has evolved into a multi-purpose automation tool that can do Terraform, Terragrunt, and even PowerShell! Very cool. In this video we go through what Semaphore UI is, how you can set it up using Docker Compose code.
