Just a heads-up for anyone running Proxmox in their environments. NAKIVO is about to release Backup & Replication v11.1, and one of the new features of this release is native Proxmox replication.
Until now, NAKIVO supported full VM backups for Proxmox, but with v11.1 you will be able to replicate VMs between Proxmox hosts. Previous to this release, you could only backup Proxmox and replication wasn't a feature. The new NAKIVO feature will allow you to replicate copies of your workloads from one Proxmox server over to another Proxmox server in near real-time. Then you have up-to-date copies of your workloads that you can spin up if the primary server goes down.
With this release and functionality added for Proxmox VE Server, NAKIVO is getting closer to feature parity with the other hypervisors it supports, including VMware. it will allow you as a Proxmox admin more options to have business continuity in the event of an outage.
One of the things I like about NAKIVO is they have the ability to run on NAS devices as well. So, you can have a "Backup appliance" essentially with a simple NAS device that runs NAKIVO and has copies of your production data sitting away from your production infrastructure. I currently run NAKIVO Backup & Replication on my Synology NAS and it works great.
Keep in mind for home labs, they have a 10 node license that you can run for free in the lab environment. They have an upcoming webinar for the new release: Official Rollout: NAKIVO Backup & Replication v11.1 Revealed.
Anyone here planning to test out replication with their Proxmox clusters with NAKIVO 11.1?
